Throwback Thursday
Last weekend, I visited a friend of mine I made during my freshman year of college. We used to be in the same major and live really close to each other, but we've since seen less and less of each other. While I was having dinner with her and her current roommates, I couldn't help but notice how much things have changed.

Are you a procrastinator??
To answer my own question, yes, I am a procrastinator. And do you know why we procrastinate? Wouldn't the world be better off without procrastination? Hell to the yes. Without procrastination, things would actually get done. Things like the dishes, cleaning up after yourself, moving your furniture out of my room, bringing the kitchen appliances you keep promising to bring. Oh wait, that's just my roommates.

I live with four roommates, three of which I met freshman year of college. People assume that we happened to get really close that year because we all lived a stone's throw away from each other in the same hallway on the same floor in the same building. But something I've never admitted is that I barely knew them, and vice versa, at the time.

Escape from reality
Isn't it a wonderful feeling? You know the one I mean. When you find yourself completely engrossed in a book, anime, TV show, fandom.

Keep smiling, bitch
Not too long ago, one of the managers at the restaurant where I work as a server pulled me aside to give me a quick pointer. She said, "When you're on the floor, no matter what you're doing, make sure to smile! Always be smiling. Because sometimes you like kind of upset."

Friends today, gone tomorrow
We take for granted those days in our youth when we had to put in zero effort to see our friends. They were just always there, almost every day in class or around town. But those days don't last.

My first car
So I've been on a hunt for my first car. This summer, with my parents out of the country, I've been using my dad's car to get to and from work. But now that they're back and school's starting back up real soon, I'll be needing my own car to continue working during the semester.

Guys like natural beauty
I've known plenty of straight guys in my short life that support a certain pattern of answering the age-old question of just what it is they look for in a woman's appearance. The majority admit that they're most into natural, no-makeup beauty. Now that's all fine and dandy - and certainly very nice of them - but I realized something the other day.

Comfort zone, no more
I recently went to the beach for a 12-day getaway with one of my roommates, Kristi. But I won't be dedicating a full blog post about our excursion, as wonderfully relaxing as it was. No, I have decided to step out of my comfort zone and start playing hardball.

Another installment of Favorites!? This time, I'm coming at you with Prague, Czech Republic, because Prague has to be the most beautiful city I've seen in person (although, disclaimer, I'm not all that well-traveled for a travel enthusiast).

My travel essentials / what's in my bag?
As I've previously mentioned, I'm staying in two different places this summer: home and the new apartment. Since I've been going back and forth a lot lately, I've put together a bag of travel essentials that I can just pick up and get going with.

Life updates
So I lied about the posting-every-other-Wednesday thing. It's been a busy month for me. But now, it's summer, and I couldn't be more relieved. I'll be having more time (hopefully) to devote to this blog, and I thought I'd start out by updating y'all about what I've been up to and what I'm planning for the future.

Spring lovin'
So it's been two weeks since I've posted anything, and I think it's pretty clear why. It's almost finals week here at university! Life update: I'm being buried alive in work and I'm probably going to be posting bi-weekly until all this hubbub is over. But in the meantime, I'm here to let you know what some of the products I've been loving this semester are!

Souvenir dread
I miss the days when I could travel during the summer and not feel like I'm wasting my life by not studying or making money. Being cooped up in the library and various study lounges, I've been thinking a lot about travel lately.

Snapshots from spring break
So this is a day late and I have the totally legit excuse of college to explain myself. Things have been crazy busy, especially after spring break when the school work inexplicable becomes exponentially harder to keep up with. Guess it's because summer seems just around the corner now.
Since I haven't the time to write a very meaty post (and haven't for a while) (and won't for a while), I thought I'd just share some snapshots from this past spring break. I had a friend from university come visit me who has some interest in photography and wanted to take some pictures of me to make an album cover for a song cover I had recorded for him. Here are the results:

Garden-fresh salsa
Chips and salsa are hands down one of the best and most versatile snacks ever. They're good for everything from parties to sitting in front of the TV. But sometimes, I get tired of the runny, jarred salsas at the store and prod Mom into helping me turn out a huge batch of fresh, spicy salsa.

Honestly, as much as I hate on the school system I had the misfortune of being in, it's really not one person's or faculty member's fault. In truth, I had some really outstanding teachers in my time in high school. (Are they truly outstanding, or did they simply easily eclipse the multitudes of their not-so-great colleagues? No, no, I can't think that cynically).

I don't care how old I am. If I'm at Disney World, I'm going all out. Every ride, every photo op, every face character, I'm conquering it all. It's called the 'most magical place on earth' for a reason.

Indonesian food culture
Indonesian cuisine is extremely diverse and plays an important role in its culture. It has a myriad of influences: Indigenous techniques for preparing food largely came from India, China and the Middle East. The Dutch popularized bread and cheese in Indonesia.

Healthy eating
I have a sweet tooth that can sometimes get wildly out of control, especially when it comes to candy of the sour variety. That being said, the inclination for us humans to be addicted to sugar is widespread, quite natural, and really, really bad.

I've had a fixation on scarves this past winter. I just really love how a different scarf can change a whole outfit's mood, as far as outerwear goes.

It seems to be a general trend amongst Generation Y to dream of flocking to cities and saying 'goodbye' to the paradise of suburbia our parents migrated in hoards to when they were just about our age.

It's quite late, but happy Monday! Kids across the US were off from school today, but I was at it, helping Bernard with one of his school projects. And even though I've got a few weeks left before I'm back at school, I've been thinking a lot about how to improve myself this semester. So, I've come up with a list of late, school-related resolutions.

I recently read my friend, Megan's, blog post about creative business and economic thinking and got to wondering about what direction the world is going in terms of how people need to think in order to be successful.
